Week 2 Down!!!

The bar has been raised again. Every competitor this week managed to workout more minutes than last week. The guy team won the week in points, but not enough to catch the girls in the overall totals. Great job everyone and keep up the calorie burning!!!

Girls Win a Close First Week

WOW! What an exciting first week it was out there. Congratulations to all the competitors. We are all winners, in a way, but truly there can only be one real winner. Hats off to the girl team for their very impressive win. Nice job!!! You really rocked it and burned a lot of calories doing it. Cheers to an amazing 2nd week. We can only hope we all work out as much as we did last week. Let's continue to stay healthy and uninjured. Cheers!

Scoring/Rule Update
1) You get 6 points for logging 5 daily workouts per week (at least 3 miles run and/or 30 minutes of working out per day for at least 5 days a week).
2) If you logged your 5 daily workouts, you get a chance to score bonus points.
3) 6 points goes to the participant who works out the most minutes during their 5 best days of working out that week.* The participant who worked out the second most minutes during their 5 best days gets 5 points, the third place 4 points, and so-on. *all minutes worked out in a single day count towards the daily total, including double days.
4) 6 points goes to the participant who works out the most minutes during the week.** The participant logging the second most minutes during the week gets 5 points, the third place gets 4 points, and so-on. *all minutes worked out in a single day count towards the daily total, including double days.
5) The maximum points a participant can score each week is 18 = (6+6+6). The maximum team points is 48 = 18+16+14 or (6+6+6) + (6+5+5) + (6+4+4)
6) The points are tallied each week and added to the Overall Standings. Whichever team has the most points by the end of the competition (February 4, 2012)

The Grudge Match 2011

What started as a friendly bet a couple of days ago between 3 married couples (3 husbands vs. 3 wives) has already turned into an all out war. This competition has already proven to be tough. Here are the rules for The Grudge Match 2011:

1) Two Teams: Guys vs. Girls
2) A "daily workout" is 30 minutes working out or 3 miles run.
3) Maximum of one "daily workout" per day.
4) The team with the most "daily workouts" at the end of the week wins.
5) The losing team pays $20 per team member into the pot.
6) The winning team gets to choose where to spend the weekend using the money in the pot for lodging.
7) If team "daily workouts" totals are equal, the team with the most minutes worked out that week wins.
8) The Grudge Match starts December 11, 2011.
9) The Grudge Match ends February 4th, 2011.
10) 5 "daily workouts" is the maximum per person per week. Minutes from any "daily workouts" over 5 per week still count toward the weekly total for tiebreaker purposes

That being said, the first couple days have already seen competitors pulling double days. People are running outside/inside, biking on roads and trainers, working out to DVD's, doing free weights, track workouts, ab work, and being ultra concerned about their health and fitness.

This "friendly" competition will definitely lead to a lot of calories burned in the coming weeks.

Good luck everyone and happy calorie burning!!!
